Biography: Prof. Dr. Manjur Murshed received a B. Sc. Engineering degree in computer science and engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), Dhaka in 1994 and a PhD degree in computer science from  the  Australian  National  University  (ANU),  Canberra  in  1999.  Currently, he is a Professor of Information Technology and the Associate Dean Research at School of Engineering, Information Technology and Physical Sciences, Federation University Australia. Previously, he served Federation University as a RHT Smith Professor and Personal Chair (2014–2018) and Monash University as the Head of Gippsland School of Information Technology (2007–2013). His research interests include video technology, machine learning, wireless communications, Cloud computing, and security privacy. He has published 240+ refereed research papers and received $5.1m competitive research funding, including four Discovery Projects (DP) and a Linkage Infrastructure, Equipment, and Facilities (LIEF) grants from the Australian Research Council, and supervised 26 PhDs to completion. He is currently an Associate Editor of IEEE Transactions on Multimedia and he served IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems for Video Technology as an Associate Editor and IEEE Transactions on Cloud Computing as a Guest Editor. He served as a Program Co-chair of PSIVT’19, DICTA’18, DICTA’17, and PCS’15, an Area Chair of ICME’14, and the Awards Chair of ICME’12.
