Prof. Dr. Choudhury Mofizur Rahman

 

Short Biography:

Prof Dr Chowdhury Mofizur Rahman is working as the Vice Chancellor of United International University (UIU), Dhaka, Bangladesh.

Prof. Rahman obtained his PhD and MSc in Computer Science from the Tokyo Institute of Technology in 1996 and Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) in 1992 respectively. He obtained his BSc in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from BUET in 1989.

He was a Professor of CSE Department, BUET. He also served as the Head of the Department of CSE, BUET from 2000-2001.

Earlier, he was the Pro-Vice Chancellor of United International University for consecutive three terms.

He is the recipient of Monbusho Scholarship awarded by Japanese Ministry of Education and Culture from 1993 to 1996 for pursuing Ph.D. at Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan; IEEE AI’95 best paper award at 8th Australian Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence, Canberra, 1995; JSPS fellowship as a Visiting Researcher at Tokyo Institute of Technology from 2000 to 2001.

He was the Visiting Professor of University of Bradford, UK from in 2009 under the EU sponsored eLINK project. He is the coordinator of eLINK, cLINK and FUSION Projects- all are sponsored by EU.

A total of 119 research articles have been published in national and international journals by him. He is involved with the ICCIT since 1998.

He is the Member of IEEE, Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh and Bangladesh Computer Society.
