Mohammad Robiul Hossan is the mechanical engineering program coordinator and an associate professor at the University of Central Oklahoma (UCO), Oklahoma, USA. Dr. Hossan received his BS (2002) in Mechanical Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), MS in Mechanical Engineering (2008) and in Industrial Management (2009) from South Dakota State University (SDSU), South Dakota, USA and PhD (2013) in Mechanical Engineering from Washington State University (WSU), Washington, USA. His research focuses on the electrokinetic transport in microfluidics, design and development of biofluidic devices, and active and transformative learning in engineering education. He has published more than 35 peer reviewed journal articles and proceedings with more than 100 technical presentations in conferences and technical meetings. Dr. Hossan received Oklahoma NIH-INBRE Research Opportunity Award in 2015, UCO faculty merit credit teaching award in 2016 and UCO faculty merit credit research award in 2017 and 2019. He chaired numerous sessions, symposia, and tracks for a number of ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) and OAS (Oklahoma Academy of Science) conferences and technical meetings. Currently he is serving as the Vice- chair of ASME Micro/Nano Fluid Dynamics Technical Committee. His interest in a joyful, inclusive and transformative education led him to co-found “Paradigm Shift Education Inc.”, a USA based non-profit organization in 2018. Dr. Hossan is the president of Paradigm Shift Education Inc and currently it has three active projects in Bangladesh to support STEM education, students and their families.
